Abstract

This paper offers a concise, historically contextualized analysis of the political and ideological underpinnings of the economic planning undertaken in Soviet Russia following the October 1917 Revolution. It examines War Communism, the New Economic Policy (NEP), and the thirteen Five-Year Plans implemented during that period. Finally, drawing on the concept of Indicative Planning, it juxtaposes the “Plan” and the “Market” in terms of resource allocation.
